This article, "15 Answers to Creationist Nonsense," from Scientific American does an excellent job at pointing out the fallacies in the arguement against evolution.
This is one reason I am so concerned about the state of education in our country, particularly as regards science. It's disturbing that not only the public, but elected offcials and judges have such little familiarity with the basic precepts of science that they can be persuaded by those who willfully misintepret and misrepresent scientific theories.
I understand that there is a certain aloofness and elitism on the part of the scientific community that makes those who aren't scientists feel like they could never understand these kinds of concepts. I think that's a shame and something that should be fixed, which is a big part of the reason I want to be a science journalist.
I just wish that officials were better informed and advised about issues such as this, particularly global warming. Because they're screwing us over royally with that one. Link
